(NMDS-SC)
NMDS-SC NEWS UPDATE
Skills for Care (SfC) has
announced that organisations who have not activated their NMDS-SC online
accounts will be removed from the NMDS-SC database by the end of March 2010. For
information on available networker support to assist you with your NMDS-SC
workforce data, go to the Information menu just to the left of our log in area.

The NMDS-SC gathers information about the social care sector. It has been
designed to gather information about services and the social care workforce.
More than 58% of CSCI registered providers are
now using NMDS-SC on line.
The LWDP have been working in partnership with Skills for Care (SfC) for over
two years, assisting care organisations to complete their NMDS-SC data. The
NMDS-SC database went live 19.11.07
All your workforce data (both organisational & employee) can be completed in
LancashirePlan and uploaded directly into the NMDS database using the Bulk
Upload Tool (BUT). The BUT allows employers to quickly and efficiently provide
large amounts of workforce data to the NMDS-SC database without the need for
manual entry.

4 steps to completing NMDS-SC
1) Organisations new to NMDS-SC can register direct www.nmds-sc-online.org.uk
2) Once you have registered on the NMDS-SC database, run the first wizard and
this will generate your NMDS-SC ID number.
3) Contact Diane Saffery at LWDP who will organise Bulk Upload Tool approval for
you.
4) Update your workforce data in LancashirePlan and upload directly into the
NMDS-SC database.
Organisation already registered for NMDS-SC, with an NMDS-SC ID number and Bulk
Upload Tool approval can go straight to step 4. (If you are unsure if you have

the LWDP for advice)
