In the pursuit of our aim to help the providers of care within Lancashire to meet the National Minimum Care Standards in respect of training and staff development the LWDP are charged with

    • the fair and equitable distribution of a considerable amount of funding to the care providers of Lancashire
    • the responsibility of ensuring that funding sourced on a per capita basis reflects the true workforce make-up
    • maintaining accurate and auditable records of funding dissemination

The LWDP use LancashirePlan as an on-line solution for collecting the above information and administrating the funding records. During (2010/11) all Employers must book all their funded training through LancashirePlan and all training providers must use LancashirePlan to maintain their records.

Licences to use LancashirePlan have been purchased by LWDP. Training Providers are to pay a 2.5% administration charge for all LWDP funded training.

    The process described quickly

    • Care Providers apply for funding through an on-line application form accessible via LancashirePlan
    • Training Providers use LancashirePlan to advertise or notify providers of their course availability
    • Care organisations book or request a course directly through LancashirePlan, training providers are automatically sent an email with these details
    • The training takes place
    • The training provider logs onto LancashirePlan via a secure login and marks the booked course as completed. With NVQ’s it will be necessary to enter the choice of NVQ units against the learner (mandatory units are automatically assigned) and again mark the unit as completed

Care providers who do not have access to a computer with an internet connection can call the LWDP and a networker will visit to assist them with the application for funding on one occasion and give advice about how they can do this in the future.** Training providers can call Stuart at the LWDP for any help and support they need with the administration process.

The application forms must be completed on line and approved before the course starts.Once completed the payment is made,in the case of the accredited courses on production of a copy of the awarding body certificate or in the case of the internal courses a copy of the course syllabus plus a certificate from the training provider.

The course cannot be part of the NVQ programme or Induction/Foundation where other funds are available. To see a list of the courses which are funded please click here
