QCF FUNDING
Workforce Development Funding (WDF) available towards QCF Awards, Certificates and Diplomas.
What is the Workforce Development Fund?
The Workforce Development Fund replaces the Training Strategy Implementation Fund managed by Skills for Care.
There is a contribution of funding available for all QCF units that are covered in the Health & Social Care Levels 2, 3 and 5 (adult pathway) Diplomas until March 20th 2012 (Please click here to see a full list of QCF units). Managers do not have a limit on the number of credits that can attract a contribution of funding for each individual employee which supports their learning and development needs.
FUNDING CONTRIBUTION PER QCF CREDIT = £13.50
How can an organisation become eligible for WDF towards their QCF qualifications?
- The organisation must complete Skills for Care Partnership Form (click here).
- The organisation must complete a Bank Details Form (click here).
- The organisation must have fully completed their NMDS-SC Questionnaire which must be verified by Skills for Care after April 1st 2011.
Workforce Development Funding (WDF) available towards NVQ units.
There is a contribution of funding available for all NVQ units that are covered in the Health & Social Care Levels 2, 3, 4 and Management NVQs until March 16th 2012. As you may know 2011/12 is a transitional year, as Vocational Qualifications change from National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) to the Qualifications Credit Framework. Skills for Care have received feedback and are keen to support you through this transitional period, by extending the deadline for completion of NVQ units.

How can an organisation become eligible for WDF towards their NVQ qualifications?
- The organisation must complete a Skills for Care Partnership Form (click here).

Workforce Development Funding (WDF) available for Volunteers – Unpaid staff in a direct care role
LWDP can support volunteers with their QCF Training. Volunteers can access funding contributions of £68 per NVQ unit and £8.50 per QCF credit for QCF units identified as acceptable by Skills for Care via the Workforce Development Fund (click here). Employers must contact LWDP if they wish to apply for QCF funding for their volunteer staff.

FUNDING CONTRIBUTION FOR VOLUNTEERS PER NVQ UNIT = £68
Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
LWDP are encouraging Employers to apply for single QCF units to support the CPD of their workforce. Funding contributions at a rate of £13.50 per QCF credit is available. If Employers would like to identify specific QCF units, awards or certificates to be funded by the LWDP, requests can be submitted by email on safeerasuleman@lwdp.org.uk.

Once QCF/NVQ units are completed how can an organisation claim for the WDF?
- Photocopies of the completed QCF/NVQ Unit Summary Sheets must be submitted by the 7th May 2012 to the LWDP office for Payment.
- The Internal Verifier must have signed off the NVQ/QCF unit summary sheet between 1st January 2011 and 17th May 2012.
- The assessor date on the NVQ/QCF unit summary sheet does not have to fall between 1st January 2011 and 17th May 2012.
- On the NVQ/QCF unit summary sheets we require the candidate name, candidate registration number, unit code, unit name, assessor signature and assessor date for all units claimed.
What is the deadline for an organisation to claim for the WDF once QCF/NVQ training has been completed?
All completed QCF/NVQ unit summary sheet(s) need to be submitted to the LWDP office for payment by 7th May 2012.

From July LWDP have been delivering workshops across Lancashire to help you complete your NDMS-SC so that you can access the Workforce Development Fund. Please contact the LWDP office for further details.
In addition to free workshops LWDP also offer a consultancy service at a rate of £20 per hour to help you complete your NMDS-SC, please contact the LWDP office for further details.

- Establishment type
- Main and other services provided
- Service users for whom services are provided
- Service capacity and uptake level
- Numbers of staff permanently and temporarily employed
- Numbers of bank/pool, agency, student, voluntary and other staff
- Numbers of staff leaving and starting in past 12 months
- Numbers of vacancies
- Reasons for leaving
- Destination of leavers
The required worker information for WDF eligibility is:
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Main job role
- Other job roles (if applicable)
- Start date (in main job)
- Source of recruitment
- Employment status
- Contracted hours of work
- Additional hours worked (if applicable)
- Full-time or part-time
- Working arrangements
