Who are we?

Formed in 2003, the Lancashire Workforce Development Partnership (LWDP) is a company limited by guarantee and controlled by Lancashire County Council within the meaning of Part V of the Local Government and housing Act (1989). It represents over 1000 providers of independent Social Care across Lancashire. LWDP supports employers by making contributions towards staff training and development, with the ultimate purpose of improving Social Care in Lancashire for service users, by valuing and investing in the Social Care workforce. Over the past eight years, with extensive support from Lancashire County Council and other partners, LWDP has established itself within the sector and has become the central point for its stakeholders to gain information and access to workforce development opportunities.
