Appraisal Supervision and Feedback Skills

Aims & Objectives

This is a one day course to enable managers and supervisors to use effective feedback skills with their staff in a range of different situations. Students will understand when feedback is required in the workplace, what is meant by constructive feedback, how to involve the individual in the feedback process and how to monitor their performance in the workplace.

Course Objectives
  • Identify when and how feedback might be required and delivered in the workplace
  • Define the term “constructive feedback”
  • Identify, explain and demonstrate the key skills of giving constructive feedback
  • Explain how to monitor and follow up performance
  • To be able to define, prepare and practise the skills and behaviours required to manage the Performance Management process and appraisals effectively
  • Sharing best practice and ideas in giving honest and effective feedback
  • To demonstrate the skills and behaviours required to handle difficult messages
  • To build confidence and morale in your team

Target Group
  • The course is designed for managers and supervisors involved in giving feedback to staff on a regular basis.  It will give practical advice on how to give constructive feedback during situations such as appraisals and supervisions as well as on a day to day basis.

  • This is a non- accredited course.
