Sessions: A wide range of individual learning sessions (up to an hour and a half in length) covering a wide variety of topics for individual staff at all levels in the organisation (see lists of learning sessions). Two versions of each session are available - one specifically designed to support learning on-line and one plain version that is easy to print out and copy.
Group Learning Sessions: A series of high quality group/taught sessions designed for managers or those with training responsibilities to download and run with their staff. Some will be appropriate for an hour and a half training session at the end of a staff meeting; others are designed to last for up to half a day. All come with handouts ready for photocopying, step by step guidance about running the session and clear learning objectives.

Scils bridges the gap between learning and work practice
The breadth of information available via Scils means that the learning can be tailored to meet the specific needs of an individual member of staff or organisation. Additionally each Individual Learning Session has a short 'assignment' at the end to check the person's learning. Traditionally much face to face training has assumed that attending a days course equates to learning. The worker is encouraged to discuss their response to the assignment with their line manager or assessor - partly to check the learning and partly to ensure the smooth translation of the learning into their work practice. This latter stage of moving learning from the 'training room' to the 'workplace' has often been a difficulty in the past.
