Statement from the CSCI and Skills for Care
Statement from the Commission for Social Care and Skills for Care regarding the National Minimum Data set for Social Care and the Annual Quality Assurance Assessment: By Mats Lund (26 September 2007) “CSCI and SfC have been working together on developing the NMDS-SC alongside the developments of the AQAA return that CSCI requires. Both organisations are committed to the “collect once, use many times” principle.
Since April, CSCI has been attempting to retrieve some workforce data via the NMDS. However, a number of technical difficulties have arisen which are making the process cumbersome and inefficient. In view of this, CSCI and SfC have agreed that for the 2007/2008, CSCI will retrieve all the workforce data needed for inspection purposes directly from providers via the AQAA.
CSCI and SfC will be conducting further urgent work on online data access and the design of the AQAA to ensure a better fit with the NMDS so that progression is made towards a single point of collection of social care workforce data for 08/09.
We would like to thank all employers who have completed the NMDS and/or their AQAA and to reassure employers that we are doing everything possible to minimise the impact on employers” Some Funding is dependent on completion of your NMDS-SC return, use LancashirePlan on-line NOW to submit your NMDS-SC.
